I was commissioned by Dorbiere to photograph their portfolio of pubs across the country.

I was fortunate enough to photograph some of the pubs 12 months ago prior to a refurbishment. One pub was The Oddfellows Arms, which is on the outskirts of Manchester City Centre and sits in what used to be a thriving industrial community.

I used to go to The Oddfellows Arms for a pint years ago. Its a 'proper' local with real people and not far away from what used to be Belle Vue Gardens which had a  zoo , an amusement park (Water Chute and The Scenic Railway - I'm giving my age away!) and also hosted Belle Vue Aces, the speedway team.

One of the images below shows the pub 12 months ago prior to the refurbishment, the remainder, in my view, reflect the thought and effort that has gone into highlighting the pubs history, community and surroundings.

The company not only have lovely pub premises but also have some great staff working for them. I even stayed over for a night at The Oak Tree in the North East of England.

Apart from The Old Nags Head being at the start of The Pennine Way, it is in a beautiful picturesque location and just down the road from the equally impressive Rambler Pub which is also owned by 'The Dorbiere Group'
