The Belle Epoque Wedding Photography
I started the day by travelling to Rebecca and Craig's home in Warrington, to photograph Rebecca, her family and Sarah the bridesmaid as they got ready. Rebecca was relaxed as Grandad entertained the children, he did a sterling job as the girls had the finishing touches to their hair and make up. When everyone was ready, they made the journey to a beautiful and intimate venue The Belle Epoque in Knutsford. Craig was already there waiting with family and the best man, having arrived in their new Bentley (only hired for the day I might add!) and being photographed by Nigel Maitland who was second shooting for the day.
The Belle Epoque is a Grade II listed building and, whilst it has a unique intimacy as a wedding venue, it's also very dark and can be challenging as a photographer. It has retained many of its original features, has a stunning restaurant area for the wedding breakfast and also a Mediterranean roof garden, which offers opportunity for photographs and socialising following the ceremony.
Rebecca and Craig's children made their way down the aisle, followed by Rebecca and her Dad, who was looking extremely proud and shook Craig's hand before giving his daughter away. There were a few tears, including the bride,during the readings as her daughter was one of the readers.
Following the ceremony everyone made their way onto the roof garden, where the sun was shining, before heading off for the wedding breakfast and speeches. Fun and laughter were the theme of the day and it only got better when Rebecca threw the wedding bouquet. The catcher laughed and appeared delighted and congratulated by her friends whilst her boyfriend put his head in his hands and was consoled by his mates. I'm not sure about any subsequent conversation, but they've not booked me yet!
The time simply flew at this wedding and before realising,the award winning DJ Andy Murphy was set up. I've known Andy for years and he is the best wedding DJ around. In no time at all, Andy had the dance floor filled and everybody had a great night.
